Adventist HealthCare Urgent Care Receives Accreditation from National Association
Recognition reflects provider’s high standards for quality and safety
Gaithersburg, MD —Adventist HealthCare Urgent Care has received accreditation from the Urgent Care Association (UCA) Accreditation Program for providing high quality and safe care.
The UCA program highlights urgent care centers that meet its standards for service, safety and quality. The accreditation is the highest level of distinction for urgent care centers. Adventist HealthCare’s locations are in Germantown, Rockville and Laurel.
“We choose to pursue accreditation with the UCA because our hospitals have some of the highest quality awards for care and safety. We wanted our urgent care centers to meet the same standards for care,” says Eunmee Shim, Senior Vice President of Ambulatory Networks for Adventist HealthCare.
With more urgent care centers filling the gap between primary care and emergency departments by offering increased convenience and cost savings, the accreditation ensures providers offer safe, quality urgent care services.
Organizations receive the UCA Accreditation status upon passing an in-person survey of the facilities. They are judged on the following criteria:
- Patient care process
- Quality improvement
- Health record management
- Human resources
- Patient privacy, rights, and responsibilities
- Physical environment
- Certification criteria/scope of care
UCA Accreditation is valid for three years and the Adventist HealthCare locations are three of the only centers in the local area to earn this distinction. “Receiving the accreditation is an honor,” says Mindy Pierce, Associate Vice President, Urgent Care. “It means that Adventist HealthCare Urgent Care is operating at the highest of standards.”
This is just one of many quality and safety awards Adventist HealthCare has earned for its healthcare services throughout Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. Our high-quality care has received national recognition for cancer, cardiac, stroke, joint replacement, home care and rehabilitation.
