Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation Announces New On-Site Hemodialysis for Patients
New on-site hemodialysis service offers single-setting, continuous care for rehabilitation patients with kidney disease
Rockville, Md. – Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation today announced the availability of new on-site hemodialysis treatments for post-acute care patients of the health system’s two inpatient hospitals in Rockville and Takoma Park.
Hemodialysis is a procedure where a dialysis machine and a special filter are combined to clean a patient’s blood. Prior to offering these services onsite, hemodialysis patients were required to travel to third-party facilities for these treatments, multiple times a week, interrupting patients’ program routine. Allowing patients to stay for hemodialysis at Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation offers patients a single setting for continuous care, as well as faster recovery times.
"Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation is forever committed to investing in new ways to deliver world-class, convenient and comprehensive care to its patients," states Elizabeth Kotroba, Administrator and AVP, Operations for Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation. "Adding this service will greatly improve the overall patient experience with our facilities and motivate future patients who require it to confidently choose our rehabilitation facility for their care."
Onsite hemodialysis at Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation is provided by DaVita, one of the largest providers of kidney care services in the U.S.
