Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center and Partner In-Site Earn Energy Conservation Award
ROCKVILLE, Maryland — Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center is saving lives while also saving energy. The hospital and its partner InSite, a building intelligence company, have been honored by PEPCO for their success in energy conservation.
Shady Grove Medical Center and InSite received the 2022 Pepco Service Provider Award for Innovation. The honor recognizes participating service providers in Pepco’s Energy Savings for Business programs, which reward excellence in energy savings, project work and customer service.
The InSite-Adventist HealthCare team won the award for implementing the Monitoring Based Commissioning Program at Shady Grove Medical Center. The program claimed a total savings of 749,617 kilowatt-hours — equivalent to saving 324 metric tons of carbon dioxide, or the electricity used by 63 homes in a year — and earned a rebate of $149,923.40.
The award signifies Adventist HealthCare’s commitment to the environment and energy conservation, demonstrating responsible resource consumption while serving patients, team members and the local community.
“This award is another example of our team’s dedication to stewardship by making our operations more efficient for our hospital and beneficial to our environment,” said Jason Shockey, Vice President of Support Services.
