
Celebrating the First Babies of 2024 at Adventist HealthCare Hospitals!
Gaithersburg, MD – The new year is off to a bright and busy start at two Adventist HealthCare hospitals, where some of the first babies of 2024 in the Washington, D.C., area have arrived.
Kicking off the new year, Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center proudly announced the birth of its first baby of 2024 at 12:37 a.m. A family from Oxen Hill, Maryland, welcomed a baby girl weighing 4 pounds 11 ounces.
At 9:52 a.m. in Rockville, Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center celebrated its first baby of the year, a baby boy weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces and born to a Gaithersburg, Maryland, family.
The New Year’s babies at each hospital received gift baskets filled with books, toys and newborn essentials to help celebrate being 2024’s first arrivals.
“Our Birth Center is thrilled to welcome the first baby of 2024,” said Nan Troiano, Shady Grove Medical Center’s director of Women’s and Infants’ Services. “It is an honor to serve our community and provide world-class care to new parents and their babies.” Shady Grove Medical Center delivers approximately 4,500 babies each year and offers a Level III neonatal intensive care unit for premature or critically ill infants.
“With each New Year comes new hopes, new dreams, new expectations, and new life,” said Nia Williams, director of Labor & Delivery at White Oak Medical Center. “The team in the Women and Infant’s Services Department at White Oak Medical Center stay ready, to welcome and receive the first baby of 2024 by providing God-centered care to these precious infants and their families. We feel so blessed that they chose us to bring their new life into this world.”
