
Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center Earns Maryland Patient Safety Center Award for Initiative to Reduce Inpatient Falls
SILVER SPRING, MD – Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center has been named a recipient of the 2025 Minogue Circle of Honor Award for Patient Safety Innovation by the Maryland Patient Safety Center, which recognizes top safety and quality solutions in healthcare throughout the region. This award celebrates White Oak Medical Center for using evidence-based approaches and patient safety principles to reduce inpatient falls.

This year’s winners were selected by a panel of healthcare experts from nearly 50 submissions. White Oak Medical Center was recognized at a special reception on April 9, 2025. White Oak Medical Center also presented a poster at the Maryland Patient Safety Conference highlighting initiatives to reduce inpatient falls and prevent injury, as well as data supporting sustained improvement and success.
The Minogue Award was established by the Maryland Patient Safety Center’s Board of Directors in honor of the Center’s first president and executive director, William Minogue, MD, FACP, to celebrate his enduring contributions and passion for improving patient care and safety. The award recognizes organizations that have demonstrated exceptional innovation and success in advancing patient safety.
