
Shady Grove Medical Center Inpatient Pediatric Unit Earns Nursing Excellence Award
Rockville, Md. – Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center's inpatient pediatric unit has earned the Platinum Pediatric Nursing Excellence Award from the Society of Pediatric Nurses, recognizing its outstanding commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to children and their families.
The Pediatric Nursing Excellence Award evaluates programs across multiple components of pediatric nursing practices. Applications for the award are blinded, peer-reviewed, and scored by a team of pediatric nurses. Shady Grove's Inpatient Pediatric Unit earned Platinum designation by demonstrating excellence in clinical practice, team member development, patient‑ and family centered care, and continuous quality improvement.
The Society of Pediatric Nurses represents more than 3,100 members and 500 organizations. Its award-winning organizations are leaders in the pediatric nursing field. They offer the most advanced practices and have proven track records of high-quality patient care.
