Weight Loss Tips

Your dietitian may recommend you:

  • Avoid foods that are high in sugar and fat
  • Chew food slowly and fully (30 times) and wait a few minutes between bites
  • Drink fluids (a total of 64 ounces) throughout the day, slowly and between meals
  • Eat smaller portion sizes and keep servings of meat less than three ounces
  • Get a daily intake of 70 grams of protein, 30 to 50 grams of carbohydrates and 30 to 40 grams of fat
  • Substitute one meal per day with a high-protein, low-carbohydrate shake
  • Take a supplement with vitamins and minerals

Post-Bariatric Surgery Diet

After the procedure, you’ll start a liquid diet. With your dietitians help, you’ll then start to eat soft foods before having solid foods.
