What’s Inpatient Psychiatric Care?
During a short-term stay in a hospital, you’ll have 24/7 access to a compassionate, dedicated team of professionals in facilities designed for you. For many people, this level of care away from the stress of daily life can help you recover more quickly.
You’ll receive a personalized treatment plan that may include:
- Anger and stress management
- Counseling and therapy as an individual or with family members
- Education about mental health and/or substance abuse
- Life-skills training
- Medication management
- Medical care for some physical symptoms
- Substance abuse treatment, which may include referrals to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA)
- Supportive mental health services, such as art therapy, music therapy, spiritual care and nutritional counseling
